Both Coláiste Feirste and St Louise’s Comprehensive College were invited to name Fold’s latest development, located off the Donegall Road in West Belfast. The St. James’s Community Forum assisted in getting the schools involvement with this “Street Naming Competition” and sat on the judging panel. The new schemes name is, Clonavogie Gardens, which was nominated by Coláiste Feirste. Belfast City Council has subsequently approved this name.
Clonavogie Gardens derives from the Irish Gairdíní Chluain an Bhogaigh (Bog Meadow Gardens). The Bog Meadows is of great local importance, located in close proximity to the development and provides the ideal environment for all types of plants, wildlife and migratory birds in a city environment.
Both Fold and the contractor O’Hanlon and Farrell believe that local involvement in the scheme is critical for the success of the development. We are proud to have gained the support for this initiative from St James’s Community Forum, St Louise’s Comprehensive College and Coláiste Feirste; both schools have received a contribution for their participation in this project. We look forward to the success of this new development within this vibrant community.
