In fifteen various locations throughout Northern Ireland Fold residents joined Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke for their recent fund raising Hearty Lunch event. Many friends and relatives joined the residents for lunch and Fold’s scheme coordinators up and down the country cooked up a success raising over £3,000 in total for NICHS.
Visiting Hamilton Fold in Ballynahinch which raised a marvellous £400, Eileen Patterson Director of Housing commented, ‘The generosity of Fold staff and residents never ceases to amaze me as they are always fund raising to support local charities and Hamilton Fold is a great example of this. Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke is Fold’s nominated charity and the monies raised from the Hearty Lunch event will make a real difference to people’s lives. The Lunch event was also a great opportunity for friends and family to get together and enjoy some real good food and to show the local community what a wonderful place Hamilton Fold is’.
Vanessa Elder, NICHS commented, “Fold Association to date has raised over £4,000 in total as our charityrelationship develops. Throughout the year, the Fold has raised funds through the Belfast Marathon, golf days and coffee mornings. We are delighted to have committed employees of The Fold involved in fundraising for their local charity, as well as generous residents giving to us though our Hearty Lunch event. It is clear that The Fold, their employees and residents are helping to rebuild lives of those affected by chest, heart and stroke illnesses.
